The best little Mama's man was born three years ago today. Okay, he might be a little cranky and far from perfect but...GOD gave me Tripp...right when I needed him. He and I have been two peas in a pod. Not that I love him more ..he just needed me right when I needed some distraction from myself. This last year has been a whirlwind of emotions and excitment..moving,new job and Dad being around a lot more and he has been a little trooper. He went from being home with me most of the time to having to go to day care three days a week for 10 hours...but fortunately we have both 'lived' through it. What would I have done with out my ear infection having, binki usein', funny little man...well the last three years would have been boring without you! Love you! Happy Birthday to my little man! He has been such a joy in our life. He is absolutely hilarious! He is our lil laid back, fun lovin, kind, sweet little guy that everyday wants to just have fun and enjoy life. He is a big Mama's boy but I am NOT complaining. He has been asking everyday for a baby sister...hmmmmm..I have a feeling Jett Henry put him up to that. I look forward to watching you grow my sweet baby, just try to grow up a little slower!:)

Holidays

Our family felt the true Holiday spirit -- Jason and Jett were in a terrible wreck...they were lucky to walk away alive. Jett had a big, ol' shiner on his face and since the wreck he has had nightmares. In the wreck was our new colt...'Lil Jake' his back was broken and had to be put down. That was an eye opening experience and makes you appreciate every moment that you have with your kids.

The rest of the Holidays were fabulous! Best Christmas ever! We had our first Christmas in Mom's new house. It was fun for each of us to have our own room and bathroom and a place for my kids to play. The New Year's Eve was so fun Aunt Shannon, Uncle Donny, Kaylee and Coy all came over. Jason bought the boys party hats, pop-its and kazoos! It was really fun! Here are the pictures!!!

We went to Pendleton and my boys had the best time. It was soooo busy with my Dad and all of his parties for the out going pres...of PLC. It was so fun, but I am still tired from all the moving and shaking we had to do. Jason always loves Pendleton and so do I...it the place we both went to college...so it kinda will always feel like home. My boys LOVE Happy Canyon Jett loved it last year...Tripp thought it was a movie this year...which he calls 'moovie.'

First day of school -- apparently is a killer for me! Am I going to cry every year? I bawled during Kindergarten on the first day -- thought, " Oh, this year I will be much better." Not, so much but at least make-up wasn't rolling down my face. Geez! Jett was pumped loves his teacher Mr.C! Who wouldn't love him? He had to wear full on belt and buckle to the first day of school. This way he's ready in case a rodeo breaks out at school? I don't know but really funny!!! Jett's brother thinks that it is some sorta punishment that he can't go to school.......so here are the first day of school pictures....oh notice the Pendleton Roundup T-shirt...it was a compromise between that and a full on button-up shirt.

29 years

I am 29 years old today. Oh MY WORD!!!! How did that happen. I had a pitty party this morning. Decided that my life was pretty much a failure because of all the things that I didn't have the -- list was pretty long. Then, like usual, I looked at the world's cutest boys...and realized maybe not a complete failure...they aren't teenagers yet:) On this day every year for the past 28 years think of my Dad. I hope is proud of me Chicken Pox and all:) Oh yes, did I mention that on my 29th birthday I woke up with chicken pox. NO LIE. Couldn't have been better if I had planned it myself. I am covered in them. I guess the Doctor said it is actually a virus that mimics chicken pox. Apparently, I am not the only one two or three other parents have gotten them. My kids don't have them and said once the spots appear you are no longer contagious. The week before I strep throat, broke my finger, and hit my leg so hard on a barrel that I had a bump for a week and huge open gash. So, apparently my immune system was down.....wonder why? All in all, I had a great day considering. We went to Pendleton to a park, ate dinner at Hamley's and lots of shopping with only a few buys. But my kids had the best time with my mom and I. We had dinner with my family. My mom got me and few odds and ends. Jason had a ring made for me that has our brand and my family brands on it. It is very nice.

My best friend came to visit with her three kids! So we have a pile of kids when we get together and my little house in Lagrande was overflowing with love:) The kids played in the creek and we even ventured out with them in public..to a swim park in Lagrande two of us and 5 of them!!!!! Anyway, it was fabulous to see my best friend she looks sooooo good and she is the best mom -- she has LOTS of paitents. They rode Jett's horse too which was interesting...MR. Doesn't like to share Chief!!!! They were very fun and entertaining:) Georgia Peach is worth at least a thousand laughs! While cousin Moores were here Jett lost another front tooth!

4th of July

This year we went to Haines for the 4th of July and then to the rodeo in Vale. We were all entered at Haines Jason, Me and Jett....it was a little crazy with all of us having something to do. Jett did good he was a little trooper he put up with Tripp crying all the way from home because he was tired and waited paitently (hard to believe) while I got ready and had things organized so I could get Tripp handed off...it took a little jungling :) Jett did great and won the barrel racing he won a halter...it is was really neat. He was soooo happpy! Tripp's favorite part of the whole thing was that Aunt Jenny and Aunt Tracy brought a puppy and that he got to ride Jett's horse when Jett was busy playing with the kids. Jett rode a sheep and that was pretty fun too!

Summer Happenings!

I have offically lost my son Jett..he gets up and goes to work with Jason at 6:30 he is off fishing in the afternoon and most evenings he spends riding his horse. He has no need for me except...if he needs pant with 'no holes.' Jett has several Indian names that he has given himself since he has been here....Elkhorn Jett (because he found an elkhorn) and then Troutman Jett (because caught five fish in the local pond). So, he decided this weekend we could go ahead and combine those names to Elkhorn Troutman Jett....(just to let you know:) Anyway, he has been sooooo busy I havent taken many pictures of him. But here are some of Tripp playing in his pool, roasting smores', and hanging in the backseat on the way to the rodeo.

Teeball

Jett played Teeball and it isn't done for all the rest of his buddies but Jett was done when school was out...he had to get back here to his 'job.' I know, I know....but honestly he thinks Jason can't run the cows without him. He had a great time playing Teeball. My friend and team teacher Jan Clark received "Teacher of the Year" for Royal School District. This has been a long time coming -- 37 years! She is a absolutely fabulous teacher...like Mr. Jaderlund said last night she has just gotten better. She truly enjoys teaching our sixth grade students. She has taught me SOOOO much...she has been one of the many people that has guided through all of the good stuff ...first year of teaching, grades, knowing what to do in certain situations and most importantly how to juggle being a working mom. I love ya, Jan! Congrads, well deserved!

Easter

Our Easter started on Saturday with a egg hunt...and then Sunday we woke up and had the Easter Bunny show up and the boys enjoyed that...and then we headed to Pendleton for some roping and our favorite restaurant -- we ate at Hamley's for Easter dinner...'yes, I know I should have made dinner.' But this was sooo nice not having to clean up or worry about my house or anything else....when I get a 'dream home' with a dishwasher I will worry about making dinners!

Jett turned 6 on the 14th. He celebrated with friends on friday with his first sleepover! It was sooooo fun! It was a great group of little guys...they played football, broke a pinata and ate as much candy as possible and even drank lots of pop...what could be better when you are 6! I can't believe he is 6 already...where did time go? On Sunday we had Grandparents and Uncle Donny and Shannon over and Jett got his Dad's old Happy Hopper (a motorized roping machine). At first I think he didn't really get it and then last night he plugged it in and roped it and...I think he is in love with it now! And the pictures above are pictures of the boys playing football!

New Rope!

Well, Jett's birthday isn't until this weekend but on the way to see his little cowboy buddy Dalton he got a new rope...it is his rope he plans on using for branding this spring...it is called the sizzler...or as Jett calls it the 'money maker.' But he has yet to catch anything with it except a cone in the store and the steer head outside once. So..Jason and I laugh when he calls it that..to be continued ...if he catches anything at branding we will be posting the pictures...on the blog for sure....it might take awhile before he catches anything but...I am sure you will hear about it from Jett:)P.S. notcie little brother...I had to stop him from roping Tripp at least four times this weekend!

This spring Jett Henry has been asked to be in four weddings! As he puts it to "carry the rings."I kinda laugh to myself because who would think that our friends would want our would man in their weddings!?!? Anyway, he can only be in three wedding because unfortunately two weddings were on the same weekend. So this last weekend was the first of the three weddings it was our friend and helper Coy. Jett took his job very serious...and when the best man took the rings from him and gave them to Coy he was a little confused..."Mom, that was my job!" I had a little explaining to do and preparation for the next wedding. He was great little guy and stood up there for the whole wedding. But now he is a professional he plans on hanging his sign out that says "For Hire" he told Jason and I last night at dinner! Very funny Jett!

Ok, when Jett was a baby I had him wear hats so his little head wouldn't burn. I haven't had Tripp do that because I don't want to cover up his curls! But he LOVES hats. I only have one hat that fits him and it is a cowboy hat. Well, here is are the picture of one day of hat adventures....if it is a hat he will wear it! Tripp turns a year old today!!! Amazing! Where did the time go. Yesterday, the nurse said,"I can't believe you made it through this year." Well, with all the ear infections ....reactions to antibiotics....there wasn't a lot of sleep...but who does get a lot of sleep with a baby? My first thought this morning was how much we love Tripp and how much he has added to our family! He is a little laid back, messy, comfy clothes wearin', easy moving, happy, sweet, and most importantly lovable little guy. He is just a really more like my brothers happy and laid back. He doesn't get too upset or too excited. It has been really fun! Our little fella weighed in at 25 1/2 pounds and was 30 inches long. He is dropped to the 85 percentile. But still a rather big fella. He also had his blood drawn and 6 shots!! He was a trooper! We are so happy to have had this whole year with him! Love you my sweet little boy!

Merry Christmas! We had a funfilled Christmas and celebrated 8 years of marriage....gosh....are you kinding? Yes, we are still married after eight years....from Rodeo Cowboy (living in Texas, to rancher......what will it be next with us). We had a exciting Christmas as well...Tripp was really fun...even though I thought he wouldn't care about it...he got a toy from Santa that is a little car and it sings a song...he loves it! He stops and dances to it everytime he hears the song....he is pretty cute...it could be just because I am the mom. Jett got his 'big pick up and trailer' from Santa which was very exciting for him ....he has wanted it since May. Jett also got a brick house kit that he built two days ago it was VERY messy .....but it was very fun for him. And instead of hanging around enjoying the season I got my wisdom teeth taken out today...so if this post is kinda crazy....just realize I am on some major drugs!

Tripp's Seattle Dr. Appointment

We took Tripp to Seattle to check out his ear problem. The Dr. was great....he told me that cases like Tripp's are EXTREMELY rare. He sees the worst of the worst ...from several states....his recurrent ear infections even after two sets of PE tubes is rare and even he only sees 4 or 5 kids like him in a year. He explained that most babies like Tripp that have recurrent ear infections most often have trouble with pneumonia but he doesn't have any of that. He said he wanted to check his antibodies in his blood in order to check his antibodies. He explained that in extremely bad cases where babies get pneumonia all time they cut a slit back behind their ears to relieve pressure. But that isn't something that he thinks Tripp needs unless he gets lots worse...which probably won't happen. SO...check the antibodies and he said hopefully he will grow out of it! Gosh..lets hope...puss coming out your ears in college isn't cool. As far as adenoids being taken out..he says it may or may not help...so we will continue to go to Dr. Ulnick in Moses ...he is great too....just thought we would talk to someone who sees lots of little people. The biggest thing I learned was that ...the waking up at night isn't ears....it a habit from ears that ...has gotten worse because he likes to be with his Mama. He actually said he needs some tough love....shout! I have been babying him. But best of all is we got to go shopping because we stayed in Seattle the night before the appt. and we saw the Snowflake parade at Bellevue Square...it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! And we got to go with PENNA shopping...how fun! This picture is not justice to how cool the parade was...it was like a movie!

My sweet boy has grown too fast. How did this happen? He is now really walking...still crawls when he needs to get somewhere quick but....why do they have to grow so quick? I do not like it! He has 9 teeth! He has gotten two back teeth in the last week or so. He is really starting to talk. Uh-Oh, Jett, Dada, Mama, Tada, Peekaboo, hi and Papa is the newest one...probably cause Jett hasn't quit saying, " My Papa..." since we got home from my Mom and Dad's this weekend. Tripp's favorite things are playing peekaboo and cuddling with his Mom...what mom wouldn't love that? Let's hope he wants to cuddle when he 12.

Waiting in the car while brother and Dad get the tree!

So I had to a test in Lagrande and Jason needed to pick up our bulls and he had to tie up a few other things....we decided that this would be a great opportunity to take the boys and get a Chirstmas tree. We thought and debated a couple different options and on the way down to Lagrande Jason and I had discussed the 'true' spirit of Christmas with Jett. That Christmas is really about Jesus and not presents....so on and on. As we were driving to get the bulls there was a tree that had been removed by the power company and it was laying there kinda sad --kinda like Charlie Browns' Christmas tree...live what you preach so we pulled over and asked Jett if this tree would be good for our tree -- his eyes lit up and in his eyes that tree was fabulous. I wanted to protest but the problem is that this little tree is very imperfect and so are we as humans but Jett was the only one -- with his innocent to see the trees' value and to him it was perfect ...so in the true spirit of Christmas I have the ugly duckling Christmas tree ...but Jason says, "We are teaching our boys it is not about 'perfection' it is the spirit of Christmas." Well....I still kinda felt like protesting -- but he made me feel petty --darn! So, our 'special' Christmas tree is a sight that is for sure!!!!

We also got to spend the weekend with our friends! And even saw a light parade -- Thanks guys!!!

Halloween

Tripp and Jett had the best Halloween. They were so adorable. ---Okay, so I am their -- mom. Jason painted Jett's face --it was REAL nice. I am not exactly sure what kind of clown has that face paint. And my sweet elephant wore his elephant outfit all night. It was pretty cute. They didn't win the costume contest -- which Jett was pretty bummed about. But after coming back from Nampa - Tripp and I got swine flu -- so we are home all week. Like Tripp needs one more thing. We are on watch all week. I am so thankful we live in a small town -- it is nice when our local clinic calls to check on our family.

Pumpkin Patch

During the 'break' I got from my mom I took Jett to the neatest Pumpkin Patch. It is out in the country outside of Woodburn. Jett needed some attention from me -- so this was something that I could do to make him feel like everything isn't about Tripp. It is on a tiny island that you have to take a ferry to -- which is neat because Jett and I had never been on a ferry. It is a fabulous pumpkin patch -- my parents' family friends own it and it is simply AWESOME. IF you ever have a chance go to The Heiser's Pumpkin Patch. Thanks Heiser's Jett is still talking about it!

Thanks for all the concerns and thoughts! I have some really great friends and family that I am soooo thankful to have! Tripp went into surgery on friday after having a fever of 103.7 all night and that morning. Several different aspects of his health were assessed and they decided that it would be best to have surgery because if he had an ear infection behind his eardrum that wasn't detectable through just looking at his eardrum then -- it would be worth taking the chance that his eardrum would burst. If his temperature was any higher he simply would have been admitted because of his temp...scary! Anyway, they did surgery and he starting feeling better after he got Mortin and Tyenol. He threw up during the night but now is on the mend will be 48 hours without a fever in the morning. So...I am going back to work in the morning. I went to my mom's house and she watched Tripp a few hours to give me break. So, my mom took Tripp a few hours to give me a break and help with Tripp. Jett and I went to the pumpkin patch. Jett needed my attention for awhile.

Surgery

Yesterday was Tripp's appointment with Dr. Ulnick. He had a hearing test. They are not sure if he hears out of his left ear or not. Sorta scary but that is all in God's hands. So I am not going to worry about that today. We are having surgery to have his second set of ear tubes put in. This is highly unusual to have a second set of tubes. Only about 10 to 20 percent of kids have to have a second set. Dr. Ulnick is worried because the ear infections have never subsided. He has had 4 ear infections since May. Ear infections with tubes are supposed to be reduced by 80 percent. But apparently not for Tripp. They are replacing his tubes tomorrow but this is not the last step. If the ear infections continue they will have his adenoids taking out after his first birthday. Sounds like no big deal -- just the fact that he is so little and where they go to take the adenoids out is extremely close to the brain. That has me a little concerned. Because of this unusual case the the fear of him getting immune to anti-botics -- I having him go to Seattle in December. I hoping someone there has the answer to solving his pain and hopefully saving his hearing. That is the biggest concern is saving his hearing. SO ....I was feeling a little sorry for myself and my son yesterday -- because I am home doing all this without Jason and -- then I remember -- GET OVER IT!!! We are praying for better results this time but still knowing all of this is in God's hands.

Tripp is nine months today! We went to the doctor today and he was 22 1/2 pounds and 29 inches long. Tripp plays 'patty cake,' waves good bye, gives kisses and has six teeth. And loves to play with Jett's barn when he is gone!!!! Don't tell Jett!

Fall at the Ranch

The ranch in Lagrande is beautiful in the fall...but I have to say...I am glad this last weekend was the last time I will be there for the season!!! It is way too cold! While at the ranch Jason and Jett Henry found a wild apple tree. There is something about wild mountain apple trees that are just soooo good that you can't get from a domestic apple. I grew up on 'ranch' apples. We had several apple trees on the ranch in Wallowa and there is nothing better in the fall than riding by an apple tree and picking a few and putting them in your pocket! Yum Yum! Jett picked several and feed a few to the horses. He is getting good at keeping his hand flat!

Hoofprints

Jett is on his way to driving --okay, not really but is sure feels like it. Yesterday, he passed his big milestone as a little cowboy he rode to Nany's from Grandma Shirleys without an adult seems small but when I followed him five minutes later all I saw was hoofprints. And it is a big deal for Jett's Dad because he is following in his Dad's footsteps by riding on his pony and visiting people on the ranch. Well, Stewart's watch out there will be hoofprints on your lawn!

Vampire?

I have not slept a whole night for 2 weeks!!! Tripp has had ear infections and so I thought well must just be these colds going around and so on. Well, I had to take him for a check up on Wednesday for ear infections. I was in the Dr.'s office explaining how he screams for like three hours a night from about 11 or 12 until like 2 or 3 and I am so tired etc. So, she checks his ear -- they looked great after the round of antibiotics. Then she checks his mouth -- wow! she says...I am like, "What?" and she says, "His eye-teeth are poking through." His top fronts are not in so we have a vampire on our hands -- who is apparently nocturnal -- which all vampires are,right? So, she explain usually this doesn't happen -- we are both laughing at this point because she has told me this several times through the course of Tripp's very short life. Usually, they don't get ear infections at 6 weeks, usually they don't gain 2 or three ounces a day, usually they don't get ear infections after they have tubes the list goes on! So, apparently he must be a vampire!!! This is him sleeping at lunch -- because vampires don't sleep at night!

Toothless wonder

Jett has been complaining of his bottom teeth hurting -- I was like well -- it must have gotten bumped. Jett has a loose top tooth but this morning -- I wiggled the bottom tooth and pop out came the tooth and we were both shocked! On further inspection he has three other really loose teeth. We could have a Jack-o-lantern by Halloween.

Jason always spends the full week at Pendleton for the rodeo. This year was different experience because we did a lot of the 'kiddy' stuff that we have never done before. One of the things we did is go to the PBR and the Happy Canyon ( an old west show). Jett loved it! The best part was the Indian horses and the cowboys shooting guns!! He loved it so we will be doing every year!!! We went one night to the PBR which is the bullriding!! He loves bulling riding! Here is a family pictures...

As I was saying in my post about Tripp being slower and more laid back....well...it doesn't mean that he still doesn't get into stuff. I am trying to do everything myself since Jason isnt home. Sometimes when he is here it is just nice to have him hold Tripp while I do homework with Jett. Since Dad isnt here to watch Tripp he runs wild in the house for 45 minutes while Jett and I do homework...remember me saying Tripp wasn't gettting into stuff -- well -- old slow and steady proved me wrong last night! His whole mouth was in the bag licking the powder sugar -- boy was it fun -- until I caught him. Then he just flashed his precious smile and Jett and I died laughing!

My favorite part of the day now is waiting for the school bus ...sounds dumb but...I walk out with Jett and have Tripp loaded in the stroller. Jett and I aren't hurried this time of day and Jett and I have a great time visiting. He loves to let me walk him across the road to put him on the bus...I plan to do this until he is 18 and half!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehehe

Tripp Allen is crawling he started this Sunday. He hs been working on it for month. But he is offically crawling. Seems so funny he is 7 months-old. Jett was five months old crawling around and getting into EVERYTHING! Tripp is just happy to cruise around the living room and stop and rest several times --he is soooo laid back. Thank goodness after Jett Henry being such a go getter.

I miss Jett lots but not as much as this family member....anybody that knows Jett knows Douglas.....and he is extremely sad everyday he doesn't get played with at until bedtime. So we decided to go to two this year we went to Buckcherry and last night we went to Nickelback. It was fun -- Jason nor I had ever been to the Gorge before -- funny we only live 25 miles away. First Day of Kindergarten

Today was the first step in letting my baby go. He was so ready for kindergarten. How could that be bad? I remind myself everyday that I am so lucky to have a healthy, happy, sweet boy and that I have lived another day and got to watch him grow. I have always been thankful for that but especially since I have turned 28 years-old. My biological Dad died when I was three months old he was only 27 when he died and never watched any of my 'firsts.' So today as I walked out of Red Rock Elementary in tears I decided that it was not a sad day for me ...it was a happy day because I got to watch my baby's first!!!!

Jett Henry is experiencing his first real broken heart. It is terrible...as a parent watching your child feel so badly. Our little boy is losing his first horse. Spanky (the horse) that has given him the confidence to ride his pony -- is just too old -- Jason and I made the decision to put him down before he comes home from Lagrande. As I watched my little boy -- grieve as he gave his beloved horse a last kiss goodbye -- I realized -- this is the first step in letting my baby go-- he is growing into a young man that I will no longer be able to protect from all the heart break that will come his way -- the next step is kindergarten. As a wise person once told me....letting go is the hardest part -- so this week Jett and I are learning to let go -- he of his horse and me - letting go of him.

Mutton Bustin'

At the rodeos they have mutton bustin' where the little kids ride the sheep. We never wanted Jett to do it because we were afraid he could get hurt -- but now he is on the mutton bustin' trail. Sorry Tripper!!! Your mom has been busy the last couple weeks. Tripp Allen turned 7 months on Aug. 14. He just got one bottom tooth -- feeds himself-- hard to believe -- he is soooo skinny! He is an absolutely happy guy!!!! Unless I have been gone too long -- he goes on hunger strikes and gets kinda cranky -- he sorta roll/moves on the floor kinda like a crawl -- not really?

This week was our annual get together for my family. We all go to the rodeo in Joesph, Oregon. I spent my summers growing up in nearby Wallowa, OR. If you haven't been there ...you are missing out on the most beautiful place on earth!!! Well...only in the summer -- winter is long and cold. My boys had a wonderful time -- Jett Henry got in the sheep riding at the rodeo...mom and dad were a little scared -- dad made him ride backwards so that he would fall quickly and not fall into the sheep's horns....we didn't want him to do it....but he was dead set on it. He gets up and was mad because he knew Jason had sort of made it so he would fall off quickly. He is too smart for his own good. He tells us that night as we are falling asleep " Mom and Dad next year -- I better enter the steer riding." Jason and I want him to be happy but....not so sure about this rough stock road he is headed down! He spent the days with his Dad at the lake riding bumper boats and go carts. Tripp's favorite part of the trip was that everyone held him all day long -- he smiled all weekend. He also got to take several dips in water and that is his favorite thing to do. Plus, he got to eat lots!!! The boys were very spoiled all week long so I am home working on unspoiling them:) Not sure if that is going to work or not.

LAGRANDE BARN

One of my favorite childhood memories is playing in the barn. I spent more time in the barn than in my room or in my house. I remember spending hours on end working my horses, cleaning the barn, cleaning tack, washing and clipping my horse in the barn. My family would not always be with me but many times after dinner we would spend a few hours together. One of my favorite memories is my Dad and I (when I was about 4) capturing wild chickens in gunny sack in the barn. We had to do it in the middle of the night -- I got to hold the sack. My Dad told be I was real brave -- that didn't happen very often I have always been a 'chicken little.' The barn was the sanctuary -- my me space -- even when the world went all upside down. Many times I ran to the barn to 'cry it out' over disappointment and loss. So, it was no surprise that when we moved to Lagrande the first summer I spent every moment in the barn. Lots of women my age dream of building their "dream house" but I dream of building my "dream barn." I love the smell of fresh sawdust and the smell of horse sweat -- in all honesty I think that is how I fell in love with Jason -- he always smells like both.

I never learned to cook or clean because I was in the barn. I want to take this moment to tell my Grandpa Henry "Thank you" you for letting us spend each summer at your Wallowa Ranch and you also provided me with my first horse. I use to think it was my mom that was responsible for my horse addiction but -- I think it was you! Thank you so much! Most importantly Grandpa you provided me with a safe place -- when I (Hopefully:) enter the gates to heaven the first thing I will see is the pavement when you first turn off the main road in Wallowa on Whiskey Creek Road on the way to Wallowa Ranch -- thank you for letting our family make so many fabulous memories there -- I LOVE YOU!

Happy Six Months my sweet boy!!!!! You are fabulous and special in so many ways. You are sitting up, inch worming, eating LOTS of foods, you love the water(too bad the ear tubes get you down), laugh and smile ALL the time, you are also kinda fussy when I am not around, you love to ride with Dad on his horse, love to watch brother and your favorite food is Turkey with Vegetables. Food is your favorite -- you try to say 'Mama' but it comes out 'Ma' when you cry --you are our source of entertainment because your fat is cute!!! You have been the best edition to our family -- love you, baby!

We went to seven rodeos in 5 days-- crazy! Tripp decided to start army crawling this weekend too .....two wild boys mobile --- I am not sure if I am ready for that......

Tripp is sort of on the mend doesn't eat too well and has several Dr. appointment check ups. During the last four days my best friend has been here! She helped me with Tripp she has 3 kids under the age of 3 and all together we have 5 kids under the age of 5!!!! She is the best MAMA! I love you, Erin!

Lagrande ER

Tripp has been fighting off a terrible virus. This morning at 5:30 -- I took him to the ER. He was wheezing terrible and had a fever of a 102. On thursday he had another ear infection! When we got to the ER after having to stop and unlock three gates before I could get to the road. Plus, we have no phone service at the ranch. Tripp's fever was 102 when we arrived and he had been vomiting several times that night. He got some anti-nausea meds and his SATs were way down for him they were mid-80's. We were sent home after an hour of two observation and after they saw him drink part of a bottle. We are suppose to watch him super close for the next 24 hours.So this has been a great summer vacation so far!!!!!!

Tripp Allen is a hungry fella -- let me tell you 35 to 42 ounces a day. So today I made a command discussion to we started food! Oh my goodness, the answer to every fat baby's dream! Rice Cereal and applesauce mix. Yes, Auntie Erin he thought it tasted like Apple Pie, yum, yum! He felt better after the bites of food -- he even took a nap. He normally doesn't so this was a happy day!

Jett Henry had his last preschool program. It was a sad day for his Mama -- but he got to wear a Papa bear costume -- which hand made -- which is not my speciality:) The Papa suit I bought showed up the day after -- handy, huh? He was still kinda cute -- probably just because I am his Mama!

On this day two years ago, our family lost our special spark. My cousin Devin committed suicide on May 24, 2007. When most people hear someone committed suicide they think of a very depressed, dark, different loner. This is NOT at all the case with Devin. Devin was gorgeous, outgoing, funny and stylish. She was one of those people that when she walked into the room people were instantly drawn to her! She was athletic and anything that involved athletic ability she was good at -- naturally.

But Devin struggled with school. I don't mean she was one of the students that didn't turn in their work or was irresponsible. She was Dyslexic and struggled with school because of it. So do I. This is something that we shared together. We were very close and I tried to give her advice on dealing with it and I explained to her on several different occasions that eventually reading would come to her. It just takes lots of practice and patience in order to learn to read like other people. I was in college before I became a strong reader. She had told her mom only days previous to her death that I was her hero -- this probably because I over came an obstacle that she was struggling so much with. When I am tired it takes me three times longer to read or write something -- it just something that I have learned to deal with. Devin was like a little sister to me. The hardest part for me has been dealing with the fact that I didn't say some important words to her and those are --"There is NOTHING you can do or happen that is worth taking your life." I thought that was something that she knew because like many of us we all assume because kids like her are so loved that it goes without saying. Here is what I want EVERYONE to know NOTHING goes without saying. Granted we all know that it is no one's fault -- like her sister Alyson said, "This was Devin's decision."

Most you that are reading this blog are thinking, "There were signs our family missed." The answer to that question is "NO!" She was happy had done great at the junior rodeo days before that -- she had been anxiously awaiting a new pink shirt:) What happened to Devin was the scare or thought of losing control over what was going on at school. That day at school she had gotten in trouble for cheating on a book report. Seems like something small but Devin had been pushing the limits all winter and spring long -- but nothing more than what most teenagers do. No one knows exactly what happened at school to trigger such a terrible sequence of events but many of us think and feel that she thought she had run out of options.

When Devin got in trouble she made a command decision to go home and kill herself. This again was all within 45 minutes. She told a friend to tell Alyson that she loved her. And then told her friend as she walked out of the school that she was going to home to kill herself -- he thought she was being sarcastic. She proceeded to steal her sister's car and drive home -- we think while writing her suicide note. She got home cleaned herself up, so she would look nice when her family found her, got several of her favorite picture around her in a circle and then took her own life.

If Devin would have been at her funeral only days later all she would have said, "I am so sorry. What was I thinking?" Everyone that knew her was affected by her decision. People packed the little Condon, Oregon gym 1,100 people all. The hardest thing that I have ever done in my life was get up in front of 1,100 people and tell people how much I loved my 15 year-old cousin. But this was my last chance -- my last chance to be a part of her life. I will never hold her baby or be at her wedding -- this was every one's last chance. A rush of emotions filled me during the moments that I stood in front of that huge crowd first fear, love, sadness, loss, anger and plain old hurting. During her funeral several friends spoke and most importantly her mom (yes, I know unbelievable). Chris is unbelievably strong. Devin will be truly missed and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her and how much we all love her and miss her. Devin's story must be told so that this sort of situation can be prevented in the future. We love Devin so much and one of the most important things we learned from this tragic family event that we always need to have hope. The bible verse that we keep close to our hearts is Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life

My point in sharing this on my blog is to help prevent this from happening to any other family. This isn't about me or our family. It is about sucide prevention.

Happy Birthday, Tripp! He is fourth months old! How did that happen? Tripp Allen is a cute, fat little fella. He doesn't sleep the best. He sleeps through the night but no nap which is kinda challenging -- I don't get a lot done:) He is a huge chooer and choos all the time especially too me! That is the best part:) Tripp rolled over on May 5. Which is hard to do when you are that chubby.

Tripp Allen is having surgery on Friday for ear tubes! This is the plan to help prevent more ear infections. The doctor is still stumped on why he is getting ear infections at such a young age. We are doing this in order to decrease the chances of him having more ear infections or letting the infections spread...and I won't go into that because my mom and my mother-in-law won't allow me to use google anymore because I get myself worked up and I don't need anymore of that! So, we are going to try this and hope for the best. This is where my faith has to kick in and prayer has to do the work!

Yesterday, I headed out to take Jett Henry to preschool a 'normal' Thursday. I dropped Jett off and when I got home a went to get Tripp out of his car seat and there was puss running from his ear-- Tripp burst and eardrum again. I went to the doctor and we started the process of being referred to a specialist. This morning Tripp woke up and I ran in there and picked him up. His other eardrum had burst and now puss was running out of both ears. We have been referred to a 'ENT' Ear Nose and Throat Specialist in Moses Lake and have been in communication with Seattle Children's Hospital -- Monday we will be going to the ENT in Moses Lake. Hopefully, Tripp will just get ear tubes and everything will be fine from here. Please, pray for my sweet baby boy.

It was wonderful weather today! Jessica being the prepared, thinking ahead, organized and overall great person decided that we should do something today because the weather was going to be so nice. Well...all of you that know me ....know that I didn't even have an idea that it was going to be nice today. Jessica gave me a heads up yesterday so we planned to have a BBQ and play baseball. We plan these things expecting to have to do them with just her and I and the kids because our husbands are ALWAYS working. So, we just plan things together and if the men show up -- great and if not well we did something:) Luckily, my cousins Holly, Dave and Hailey showed up to take part... and by some miracle Jason showed up too. We had a great evening with all the family.

The weather was awesome! Tripp and I were home all day together while Jason and Jett were branding so I took some great pictures of Tripp enjoying his first taste of sunshine...January babies don't get much sun in there first couple of months:)

We spent Easter at Penna's -- Jett was very spoiled by Penna. He hunted eggs with Sylas, Glory, and Joely! It was fun. His big cousins show him all kinds of neat stuff and they make him grow up in front of my eyes. He registered for kindergarten today -- I know how can that be? My sweet baby going to kindergarten?

Tripp is growing up before my eyes he is three months and he sits in Rosebud's bumbo. It takes lots of thought but doable. He is grabbing things and figuring out he has hands!

But Jett has had us dying laughing! He is a cowboy for sure! Like all good Northwest cowboys... his favorite spot is Hamley's! He got to spend the whole morning at Hamley's ....

Jett: Yes, I am really good.

Clerk:Wow, that is special.

Jett: That little boy you read about in the paper -- that rides his horse by himself -- THAT IS ME! (Pointing at himself!)

Story behind it: My Grandpa Orval told him that he had read in the paper that Jett could ride all by himself!

We went to Elma to the rodeo last week with Jason -- I know I am behind -- I am always a lap behind -- what can I say? The boys had to get all bundled up to go -- it was so fun to see them together. Everytime Tripp gets a good look at Jett he starts to laugh! We love it. Jett Henry is so big he has been riding with his Dad and Ba everyday -- they have been roping and riding I have to get some pictures off Jason's phone -- I am so technologically challenged!

My Tripper is sleeping more and more -- I think we are hitting a growing spurt! I have a thing with sleeping babies -- they are soooooo cute. He is getting to be more and more alert.

Last weekend, Jett Henry went to his Penna's house. He spent tons of time with his Uncles they went hot tubing, bike riding and branded calves together. Jett rode all by himself to brand cattle and tells me that he wants to be just like Joely Jak (his sweet little cousin). I need to take a picture of them together but didn't have my camera -- darn. My mom has one I hope to get soon! Joely Jak and Jett's Uncle Joe gave him "Jett Sanwiches" all weekend -- he loved it!

Jett Henry turned five with some great family and friends! It was so fun! Thanks to all that came and helped Jett celebrate his birthday! He loved having you all!

Today, we went to the doctor for Tripp's 2 month check up and Jett's five year check up. Tripp was in the 95th percentile for weight and 50 percentile for height! I know -- he takes after my family -- at least I got one thing in there! Jett was in the 75 percentile for weight and height.

Jett will be turning five in three days. I am not looking forward to him being a year older. He is my baby, my first born and growing into a great little man!(We hope this keeps up:) Since we are approaching his five year mark I thought I would share some thoughts with him about what his Daddy and I thought when we found out we were having him. Like many of you, I am going to have my blog made into a scrapbook and it will be a keepsake for my boys.

First, Jett Henry, I found out I was pregnant with you on July 12th. Your Dad was elated -- I on the other hand -- was VERY scared and a little confused. Your Dad was at a rodeo in Wyoming. I called him to tell him -- hoping he would be feeling like me scared but -- NOT AT ALL! He was sitting with all his buddies, I slowly explain that I was pregnant. He immediately turns to all his friends in a really loud voice and says, "I AM GOING TO BE A DAD!" He was so excited that he could not help himself. Your Dad really wanted kids and you were a dream come true for him. After I got him calmed down I told him that maybe we shouldn't share with EVERYONE for a few more weeks. But that lasted for like two minutes! When I went to pick him up at Elgin -- I hadn't seen him for a week or so -- everyone I knew kept coming up to me and tell me congratulations -- he couldn't hold it in! Funny, I know:) A week later when we had both agreed it was important to keep on the "down low" -- he apparently had a moment or two when he forgot because he told the rodeo announcer at Joesph and when he won the round that night the rodeo announcer said " And Jason Stewart is really excited because he is going to be a Dad"-- he lost his train of thought and got wrapped up in the moment and took two victory laps -- one for winning the round and the other because he was going to be a dad. All I have to say Jett is that is a lot of love:)! He is definitely Nany's son:) Your Dad was so happy that his excitement made the scariness fade for me until a couple days before you were born -- then I thought -- I am really scared and I wanted Penna! Luckily, Penna was there to help me and everything turned out great. When you were born and your Daddy and I looked at you for the first time -- all we felt was pure love for you! Even though, you looked like a little bulldog:)! Your Dad was so protective of you that he followed the nurses around and acted like a mean old mother cow -- he was just about hooking nurses left and right -- not joking Jett! Right now when I ask you what you want to be when you grow up -- you say a Dad! And it is because of the special bond you two share:)

Jett has been riding his bike without training wheels for a couple of weeks but today he got going on his own --without me getting him started. The only problem is he doesn't want to ride by the main road by the house. Last fall, a traumatic event happened when Lulu (our dog) got ran over right in front of Jett -- he has been petrified every since. It was a horrible experience but it was a great way to teach him the road is dangerous. Anyway, it is sort of irritating because he won't ride on the road we have to push the bike to Grandma Shirley's gravel road. But he is officially a big boy bike rider!

Tripp's big milestone was that on Sunday when I took him to the walk-in clinic to have his ears checked and to have him looked at because of his cold --they weighed him---drum roll please............ yes, I am not exaggerating he weighed 14 pounds 7 ounces! He is gaining a pound a week -- I know it is crazy!

I am so proud of my little men!

Jace Allred came to play today. It was so fun -- Jett was kinda back to himself. He was pretty whiny. Jace came to play. He was so fun to have. He and Jett ate popicles and applesauce. Jace helped Jett to try to choke down some food. Thanks, Jace for helping Aunt Sybil:) You are a great guy! Jace and Jett finished a Lego set Nany gave Jett and a couple puzzles. They were so cute working together, saying things like, "Great idea" "Jace, you are really good at that" "Way to go Jett!" It was sooo cute! Tripp just chilled out being big and fat as usual! He is sooo smiley it is so fun. Above are some pictures from today!

Jett had his tonsils out and Tripp's ears are much better. The doctor told us there is still some swelling but it should all be gone by next week when we go back. The kicker is that Mr. Tripp weighs 13 pounds! Not joking! I am so proud of my little porker. Thanks to all the friends and family that bought gifts, ballons or just called to check with us this past week. It has been totally crazy. But Jetter is feeling better today finally! His temperature was so high for the first few days after surgery and was totally miserable. Today he is eating better and can't wait to see Jace and Cade -- and to go back to preschool. Ba, get ready -- he wants to go back to feeding hay too! Here are some cute pictures of my sweet boys!

A Scare for Tripp

Tripp, Jett and I went to Penna's last week. While we were there Tripp started draining fluid from his ear -- we rushed him to the walk-in clinic and they didn't know what was going on. So, I went home and went as quick as I could to our regular doctor. When we got there the doctor explained that his eardrum burst. And they had to do a spinal tap on him to make sure the infection had not spread to his brain. After a agonizing hour wait we found out it was localized in his ear. Thank GOD! We are so blessed. For the next three days we have to go to Moses Lake everyday because he has to have shots of antibiotics. One day of recovery and then I will be back at the hospital and doctor office for Jett to get his tonsils removed. So -- not much rest around our house but we are so lucky! The pictures of the boys were taken today! Tripp is a BIG FATTY! He weighs 12.3 pounds! He will be six weeks tomorrow. He also smiles now you can see his handsome grin in the pictures above!

Jett and Tripp went to a Valentines' Day party at preschool. Jett had to have him and Tripp dressed alike. He loves to match his brother. We also got a chance to go to Penna's -- which is always fun because we all get spoiled. On Valentines' Day we celebrated Tripp's one month birthday and Uncle Kip's 19th birthday! Today, Tripp got baptised into the Catholic faith Uncle Kip and Cousin Holly are his Godparents. Tripp is so lucky because he has two wonderful people for his religious and moral guidance.

Tripp is growing everyday. He is addicted to his mom and is kinda fussing when I am not holding him -- I have spoiled him already! I love that he loves me. He is getting SO big-- literally he is huge. He still eats every two hours. During the night he sleeps for four hours and then has to wake up and eat. It is nice that he doesn't wake up every two hours during the night but in order to gear up for the night he drinks six ounces in an hour and half. He is an unbelievable eating machine! Jett is doing so well -- he is a big helper boy. He loves being a big brother and has been going with his Dad. He is a big worker man!

Growing

Tripp Allen is really growing! He is so fun! Jett is in love with him. Checks on him every five seconds. We went to the doctor yesterday for Jett and his snoring. It looks like Jett is going to have to have his tonsils out. So we are going to do it soon so I can do while I am on break.

Every night Jason and I get about two hours by ourselves with Tripp and we soak up every minute of it! Tripp knows all about the Bachelor -- he is really into it. Jason and I want Jason (the bachelor) to choose Melissa -- she is very cute! Here are a couple pictures of Jason watching the bachelor with his buddy!
